Case Study - CCS :: Mahalakshmi Cable Vision - Metro Ethernet
Requirement:
To build resilient, scalable Metro Ethernet network across selected wards in Hyderabad to provide, Broadcast Video (entertainment and training contents), Video on Demand (Movies), voice over IP (VoIP) and data (Internet access) for Residential & Business Subscribers.
Challenges:
To provide reliable high band-width internet connectivity, high bandwidth to home to support streaming video over extend distance. To support additional services as the demand changes/grows.
Solution:
- We have built the entire solution based on Cisco Technology.
- At head-end two Cisco 3600 Series routers configured as ISP edge-router with DS3 link each to two ISPs.
- Cisco 6509 Chassis configures on HSRP acts as core switching where VoD servers, AAA, DHCP, Billing and other central resources were connected.
- 3 Nos. Cisco 4500 Series of Chassis were configured at Distribution layer, these were connected using 1000 Base ZX, using Single mode fiber.
- Cisco 3500 Series switches were used as edge switches.
