Case Study - CCS :: Bally Systems India (P) Limited

Requirement:

Bally Systems needed to expand their operations onto new premises at Ascendas IT Park at Chennai with about 600 nodes. They wanted someone to understand their business model and accordingly provide Consulting and Design for their requirement. They wanted solution for their LAN Infrastructure, Voice Network and Information Security solution.

Precision offering

  • We had discussed with the key Business decision makers to understand their business model and the policy they had for their LAN, Voice and Security implementation.
  • After understanding their present network and security infrastructure the Design document was submitted and following was proposed.

The entire network is designed with the following components:

  • Campus Core Network
  • Branch-office Network
  • Data-Center Network

Campus Core

In the Campus Core layer we have provided Catalyst 6504E Chassis Switches with HSRP and Security module to connect to the Distribution Layer switches. Catalyst 4510R are positioned as Distribution Layer switches at each of the buildings in the Campus which connects the Access Layer switches, Catalyst 2960 switches with Inline power.

Wireless Access is provided through Cisco Wireless Controller connecting all the Access points in the Campus. WAN Edge Router provides access to the Branch-offices.

Branch - Office Network

At the Branch-office the Router is enabled with Voice, Application acceleration and Security services. Wireless Access Router is provided for wireless access and POE switch to connect the local users.

Data - Center Network

Data-Center is provided with Layer 3 Switch to connect to the Campus-Core, the Data-Center provides Centralized Storage solution and Application Services. Cisco Wide-Area Application engine is positioned to provide Application acceleration and Data Encryption across the Network.

Unified Communications Systems Media-Rich Services

The Design of UC is based on the following parameters:

  • Power - PoE Power Management.
  • Application Delivery - QoS, Application Intelligence, WAAS.
  • Security - Firewalls, Security Appliances.
  • Non-Stop Communications - Fault Tolerant functionality, Redundant components.
  • Unified Network Services - Wireless Controllers, voice enabled, video enabled.
  • Operational Management - Device configuration, ease of deployment.
